Queensland Government's User Choice Program



The User Choice program provides public funding for the delivery of accredited, entry level training to apprentices and trainees. The User Choice 2010 - 2015 program aims to provide funding aligned to the skill needs of industry and respond to changing government priorities in a timely manner.

The program works in conjunction with the Commonwealth Australian Apprenticeships System, under which apprentices and trainees (also known in some jurisdictions as "Australian Apprentices") enter into legally binding training contracts with their employers and receive structured training to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.

The Queensland Government's User Choice program enables apprentices, trainees and their employers to select a preferred Registered Training Organisation (RTO) from a list of Pre qualified Suppliers for the delivery of accredited training to meet their specific needs.

Traineeships

If you have staff working for you who have not currently studied any accredited training in the last 7 years, they may be eligible for a Traineeship.


Eligibility

No formal training qualifications in the last seven (7) years
Do not hold a Diploma or higher qualification
Employed Full time or Part time
Willing to study at home / work
Only Non-government service


A traineeship means your organisation can receive up to $4000.00 funding in order to cover the cost of having your staff trained in a nationally recognised qualification.

You will also receive:

  • Face to face meeting with employee at your workplace
  • Supplied textbooks and study guides
  • Trainer provides support in person, chat room, face to face conferencing via internet, email or telephone
  • Develop links with a Buddy system for employees
  • Travel cost is NIL anywhere in Queensland for one meeting location if there are more than 7 employees completing the traineeship.
